decafe is coming to Australia

21. August 2012 by Laurent Demay

Young spanish designer Raul Lauri came up with the fantastic idea of collecting used coffee grounds to create homewares and lights! No wonder he got awarded the First Prize at Salone Satellite Award 2012 in Milan, Italy.

Beside the amazing concept of recycling used coffee grounds (coffee being one of the most traded commodities in the world), Raul managed to create the most beautiful and earthy products combining stunning texture with a light and comforting smell of coffee - a real delight to our senses and emotions.

As the exclusive distributor, Textura invites you into Raul's world. The beautiful Alika bowl will be available in Australia in 2 weeks. The lamps Koji, Kamaria and Zaja will follow soon after that.

Textura at GBK in Sydney

On Saturday 5th May, textura unveiled its exclusive range of inflated stainless steel stools at the Gallery Barry Keldoulis in Sydney. The unveiling coincided with the launch party for the latest collection of work by renowned Australian artist Debra Dawes

They were a big hit amongst gallery patrons at the launch party on Saturday, and one was even snapped up by a leading private collector for his own home.

Textura officially launches the Zieta furniture range (which includes the Plopp stools) at the designEx trade fair in Sydney's Darling Harbour on Monday 14th of May.  A small selection of stools will remain on display at the gallery, performing the functional role of, well... stools!
